The guavas are coming! The guavas are coming! We are blessed at SGVBG to have some thriving guava trees, and the fruit is just coming into season. Do you have a ton of guavas coming in? There are only so many tarts you can make… what’s the best way to use up a tree full of fruit? Make jam!
Ingredients
Guavas – 10, peeled, seeds removed, chopped
Brown Sugar – 650 gms
Lemon Juice – 2 tsp
Water – 2 cups
Directions:
Step 1: Heat water in a large pan over medium flame.
Step 2: Add sugar and lemon juice.
Step 3: Stir until sugar has fully dissolved.
Step 4: Bring to a boil and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes or until it starts to thicken.
Step 5: Remove from flame.
Step 6: Add the chopped guavas to the pan and place it over medium flame.
Step 7: Simmer for another 15 to 20 minutes or until guavas are soft and pulpy.
Step 8: Remove and blend well until smooth and thick.
